Happy Belated Easter

I had this photo all ready to go & didn't realize until today that I never posted. Um, what's that about good intentions?

This was taken at Petit Jean Mountain State Park on the trail to the waterfall. I got some good pictures, plus I still have so many from our Spring Break vacation. Maybe I'll remember to post again soon. ;-)

Loving the Light

This was me trying to be a little artsy while I was taking pictures one day when we were at sea. I like how the colors & lighting turned out. This just says "spa" & "clean" to me.

Phallic Flower

I really like the way this picture turned out and I promise that I didn't realize how phallic it was until I viewed it later. In spite of my 12 year old sense of humor, I find it interesting.

Budding

Just a week and a half ago, this is what my azalea bush looked like. It's definitely blossoming now.
I've been remiss in taking pictures lately and hope to do better. I bought a fairly inexpensive tripod to see if I'll even use it much before investing in a better one, but it's already given me some ideas of things I want to try. Now if I can just get out and actually do it!

Calendarly Challenged

Who cares that Easter was over a week ago? My confused Easter Lily is coming right along. At this rate, it should bloom before September.

It all has to come to an end

Unfortunately, the gorgeous flowers have to leave us at some time, but even then, they're awfully pretty.

Spring is blooming!

I am overly fascinated by daffodils right now. They're adding to my Spring fever.

The Macro Lens

I've not had a chance to really play with my macro lense as much as I want, but the other night, I took some pictures of items in my house. This is an arrangement of dried roses I have. I think I'm really going to dig this lense!

The closest I'll get to Spring today

This is the last of the wedding photos I wanted to share (a collective cheer goes up from the audience). This is also a good picture to represent the beautiful spring day we're having today. Well, I'm picturing these flowers as representative of a beautiful spring day. Not that I'll get to see any of it. I've been sick for a week now and while I'd love to be outside, enjoying the weather and taking pictures, I still have no energy what-so-ever.

I had to cancel the class I planned to take, I've not gotten to use my new lens at all and I'm missing our first warm weather in months. It's all starting to take it's toll... can you tell?

Wedding favors

The concept of wedding favors is a new one to me. Back in my day, you gave napkins & maybe matches printed with the name of the couple & the wedding date. I know that now, this is one of the many huge decisions a bride has. We got chocolate and a neat photo opp.

The Wedding

My nephew got married in San Antonio over the weekend and I kept my camera attached to me constantly. This is a picture I took of the bride's bouquet. I love the colors and detail.

The "Easter" Lily - or so they'd have you think

I debated whether or not to post this, being that 1) it's Autumn and 2) it's no where close to Easter, but then I figured, since my Easter Lily blooms in June anyway, I don't have to be seasonal.  I like how the white part (aka petals) looks in this picture and how you can see the pollen in detail. Paradise

I took these pictures while on Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, when we went on our cruise in March. I love this picture, because I was hidden away, in a hammock, yet I managed to capture the chaos of the family beach.

The hibiscus were beautiful and totally summed up the feeling of the island. This was when I realized that pictures without people were actually OK.
