Who doesn't love a good corn dog?

You can't go to the ball park without eating a hot dog and apparently you can't go to the zoo without getting a corn dog. I'm guessing this guy thinks he hit the jackpot. Now it just needs mustard.

Life is good

Our weather has been absolutely beautiful lately! Cool in the mornings, with warm breezy afternoons and blue skies. I would like this to be my new office, boss.

Head's up

I like the depth of field with the water on these, but I'll admit that I was just waiting for them to peck my face.

Lucky Duck

And by "lucky duck", I'm referring to myself. I'm fully aware that this is a goose. I went out with my camera after work and saw a gaggle (?) of geese. They really didn't like me near, so I walked and sat in another area, enjoying the breeze and sunshine. The geese suddenly swarmed at my feet, thinking I was going to feed them. I didn't have anything for them, but it did allow me to get some really fun shots. This guy kept "clapping" his beak at me - he was in mid-clap as I snapped this shot.

Budding

Just a week and a half ago, this is what my azalea bush looked like. It's definitely blossoming now.
I've been remiss in taking pictures lately and hope to do better. I bought a fairly inexpensive tripod to see if I'll even use it much before investing in a better one, but it's already given me some ideas of things I want to try. Now if I can just get out and actually do it!

Obviously not a rolling stone

Get it? A rolling stone gathers no moss? No?
I played with some shots of a mossy tree and liked these two perspectives. I really like how the seedlings show up in the 2nd shot.

Sorry, Kumar

I suppose if I grew up with White Castle, I'd love it, but I didn't... we had Krystal where I'm from. They all closed over 15 years or so and every so often, I get a craving with no way to satisfy it.
One of our final stops on our anniversary trip was the Krystal on Elvis Presley Blvd. I think the location just made it taste that much better!

Calendarly Challenged

Who cares that Easter was over a week ago? My confused Easter Lily is coming right along. At this rate, it should bloom before September.

Ancient Relic

Maybe not so ancient.
We took a quick trip over the weekend to celebrate our 16th year of marriage and passed through Memphis on the way back. The Memphis pyramid was built in 1991 - I can remember being fascinated by it. My first concert I saw there was Prince in the late 90's. Even almost 20 years later, I still love seeing it.

It all has to come to an end

Unfortunately, the gorgeous flowers have to leave us at some time, but even then, they're awfully pretty.

Free classes? Sure!

I had a friend tell me (thanks, Lisa!) about this free series of web classes and I just enrolled. Not sure how the timing will work, since the class times are during work hours, but I thought I could see if I could hit a few classes of interest (or possibly download them, depending on the cost).

As a beginner, I'm always up for learning new things. I also thought it would be interesting to compare the information with what I learned in the class I took recently at Bedford Camera & Video.

I wanted to post this for anyone else interested too.

Spring is blooming!

I am overly fascinated by daffodils right now. They're adding to my Spring fever.

Ever feel like...

... no  matter what you do, you run into one of these? That's sort of how I'm feeling right now. It's not been a good 24 hours.

Hanging Out

Today was a gorgeous, sunny day and we spent it at my Mother-in-Laws. She had the family over for lunch and then we spent a lot of time outside. Well, the kids & I did.  This is my niece in her new hammock. She loved being able to twist around. I couldn't quit laughing and had to snap her picture, of course. I like how it turned out - cute and her eyes really show up next to the blue of the hammock.

The Big City

April Fools! This was actually taken in my town - it's a pedestrian bridge that goes over the river. I happened to be in the area at night and thought it looked sort of pretty.

** update: In looking at this again, I realize just how much "noise" is in the picture. I still like the bridge though.
